| Grandparents Day |
On Thursday 14th July our school decided to hold a Grandparents Day and invited all grandparents in our school community to come along for a shared lunch. The initial planning was done by the Little Vinnies. It was a fantastic day with a large number of grandparents turning up. A very successful day…thank you Vinnies!

| Healthy Hamburger Day |
On Friday 15th July our health team put on a healthy hamburger day. We raised a total of $250.00 to buy a compost bin. Thank you to Countdown for their support and to Mr Gunther, Miss Tengaru, Mrs Williams and Jane Milburn for their help.

Wellington Rugby League Flag tournament held at Cannons Creek Park on Wednesday 31st August. Our Team 1 won the tournament.

This was held from 30th May to 3rd June. The week was topped off with a mufti day and a lunchtime disco. Here are some photos of the students and staff who dressed up to celebrate the week.

| Pentecost School Mass |
Today our whole school participated in the Pentecost Mass at our Church. The Mass was organised by the Piwakawaka Syndicate. Room 7/8/6/5 made some special Holy Spirit props for the mass. Thanks Piwakawaka

Swimming Sports 2011
|
On Friday 15th April 2011 our school had its Swimming Sports. The day was amazing with 100% of our students competing in different events. A great day organised by Mrs Watson. In the end Lucille house won the event but it was a great day had by all.

| Life Education Trust Visit |
The team from Life Education have spent week 2 from 9th – 13th May 2011 at our school running some life programmes with our students. The topics were Happy and Healthy (Rm 2/5), All Together (Rm /8/1) and Friends (Rm 9/10/11). Get Wise Financial Literacy |
On
the 10th and 11th of March we had a visit from Jeffery who is from
ASB Get wise Financial Literacy Programme. He spoke to every class
about the importance of saving and taught the students some helpful
hints when prioritising their spending. |

to Capital E Arts Festival |
On
the 15th and 21st of March 2011 our school syndicates travelled to
Wellington to Participate in the Capital E Arts Festival. |
| Jane
Lloyd Art Workshop |
On Monday 28th February Jane Lloyd came
to Holy Family School to run a sketch workshop on drawing native birds.
Lucky for us we were able to sketch the 3 birds our syndicates are
named after: Piwakawaka, Tui and the Samoan Manutagi. |

School Competition
|
On
Monday 13th December we were presented with a Merit Award by Porirua
City Council, and Plimmerton Rotary Club for our efforts with the
Tidiest School Competition. We also were presented with some native
trees. |

in Waikanae

On
Friday 10th December our whole school travelled to Waikanae Pools
for our annual Whole School Picnic. It was an amazing day and we
had heaps of fun. |
| Fairy
Tales Dress Up Day
|
On
Wednesday 22nd September we held our highly anticipated Fairy Tales
Dress up day at school. Students had been studying Fairy Tales all
term and this was a way of celebrating and reinforcing what they
had learnt. The highlight of the day was the fashion parade. This
was a fantastic way to celebrate the wonderful costumes that students
and staff had worn. A special thanks to Mrs Lupo-Samoa and her team
for organising a wonderful day! |
| Holy
Family Soccer - 2010 |
This
term we were lucky to have 5 awesome teams representing Holy Family
in the Interschool Soccer Competition at Te Rauparaha Arena- 1 year
1/2, 2 year 3/4 and 2 year 5/6 teams. All 5 teams made it through
to the semi-finals, with the Stingers and the Vulcans being the
only teams that made it through to the finals. Congratulations to
the Stingerz, Comets, Asteroids, Vulcans and Contenderz. Thank you
to all coaches for your hard work and to all the supporters for
their awesome support! |

Family School 2010 Rugby Champion |
This
year saw the start of the inaugural Robert Fruean Quadrangular Rugby
Tournament between Cannons Creek, Glenview, Windley and Holy Family
Schools. Our team was coached by Miss Simpkins and managed by Miss
Leaupepe. A highlight of the competition was Robert Fruean turning
up to our final and presenting the winning shield and player of
the tournament to our teams captain Sanasco. Special thank you to
all the parents who supported the team. |
