ANZAC 2012 On Friday 15th July our health team put on a healthy hamburger day. We raised a total of $250.00 to buy a compost bin. Thank you to Countdown for their support and to Mr Gunther, Miss Tengaru, Mrs Williams and Jane Milburn for their help. Wellington Rugby League Flag tournament held at Cannons Creek Park on Wednesday 31st August. Our Team 1 won the tournament. This was held from 30th May to 3rd June. The week was topped off with a mufti day and a lunchtime disco. Here are some photos of the students and staff who dressed up to celebrate the week. Today our whole school participated in the Pentecost Mass at our Church. The Mass was organised by the Piwakawaka Syndicate. Room 7/8/6/5 made some special Holy Spirit props for the mass. Thanks Piwakawaka. On Friday 15th April 2011 our school had its Swimming Sports. The day was amazing with 100% of our students competing in different events. A great day organised by Mrs Watson. In the end Lucille house won the event but it was a great day had by all. Opening of the new Staffroom and Toilets Opening of the New Staffroom and Student Toilets- Friday 13th May 2011 and official blessing led by Father Pene.The team from Life Education have spent week 2 from 9th – 13th May 2011 at our school running some life programmes with our students. The topics were Happy and Healthy (Rm 2/5), All Together (Rm /8/1) and Friends (Rm 9/10/11). From all reports the students had a fantastic time and look forward to the next time when Harold comes to our school. Here are some photos of some of the classes working with Harold…. ASB Get Wise Financial Literacy On the 10th and 11th of March we had a visit from Jeffery who is from ASB Get wise Financial Literacy Programme. He spoke to every class about the importance of saving and taught the students some helpful hints when prioritising their spending.Trip to Capital E Arts Festival On the 15th and 21st of March 2011 our school syndicates travelled to Wellington to Participate in the Capital E Arts Festival.On Monday 28th February Jane Lloyd came to Holy Family School to run a sketch workshop on drawing native birds. Lucky for us we were able to sketch the 3 birds our syndicates are named after: Piwakawaka, Tui and the Samoan Manutagi. On Monday 13th December we were presented with a Merit Award by Porirua City Council, and Plimmerton Rotary Club for our efforts with the Tidiest School Competition. We also were presented with some native trees. |
